When I Grow Up

She's BEAUTIFUL! Actually no. They look quite awkward right now. Their fuzz is starting to resemble possum hair and it soars around the room like big gnats so they snatch it out of the air and swallow it. Tasty!

This is Minerva. They are three weeks now and their personalities are practically screaming from within their little frames. She has a very pretty feather design sprouting out of her, very different from Fauna who was practically her twin for looks. Minerva is the sweetest. Then Dragon and Henry and then they all sort of go down hill from there. Though I am determined that it shall not last! I love to feed them from my hand and there little paddy feet are so soft. I'm not sure if it's good but they are CRAZY for shredded cheese. I can't wait for them to start actually looking like hens and not little colorful crows.

Let me introduce you: From left to right it's Gwideon, Mimmir, and Dragon. Dragon was named for her fierce looks, but really she's kind of sweet. They are the three gold ones but Gwideon is a slightly differen't shade as you can see. These were taken the first day. They were exactly a week old. Born March 10th the same as my cat and my aunt! While trying to find names for them it struck me that Goddess names fit there funny little figures and faces so I have named them all after Greek Goddesses! Except for Dragon...

Minerva

Minerva is the biggest over all.

Delphi

Delphi is a Production Red. She better not turn out to be a he because we for sure can't keep her. She is very pretty and has pink feet instead of blue like the others.

Henry

Henrietta is named after my main character in Here Below. She is the smallest and therefore the cutest. She is very friendly and fat.

Thinnever

Thinnever,
Thinnever,
Thinnever,
she gargles each night with vinegar.
It just seemed to fit her. She is the ugliest for right now but have you heard that story, The Ugly Duckling?

Fauna

I had very much prepared myself that Fauna would not make it. She was always curled up in a corner and away from the others. But by the middle of the day she was just as lively as the others, and she has a smile on her beak. She really does.
